The 2024 NTT INDYCAR Series was the 113th official championship season of American open-wheel racing and the 29th season under INDYCAR Series sanction. The season featured 18 races, starting on March 10 with the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and concluding on September 15 at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey.
Álex Palou won his third championship, becoming the first three-time and back-to-back INDYCAR champion in the Dallara DW12 chassis era. Palou clinched the 2024 NTT INDYCAR Series Drivers' Championship by finishing 11th in the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway. Despite starting 24th due to qualifying issues and an engine-change penalty, he managed to gain 10 positions in the opening stint, securing enough points to win the championship. Throughout the season, Palou demonstrated remarkable consistency and skill. He won two races and consistently finished in the top positions, which was crucial for accumulating championship points. Palou's success was also a testament to the strength and dedication of his team, Chip Ganassi Racing. The team's strategic decisions and support played a crucial role in his championship run.
Chevrolet clinched the Manufacturers' Cup for the year and Linus Lundqvist was named the Rookie of the Year. Josef Newgarden won his second consecutive Indianapolis 500, becoming the first driver to do so since Hélio Castroneves in 2001 and 2002.
The series introduced new hybrid powertrain technology, which debuted at Mid-Ohio after initial delays. New race restart procedures were implemented, including a "restart line" to reduce incidents during restarts. Stronger rear suspension uprights were mandated for all oval events following safety concerns from the previous season.
