The 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series was an exciting season, marking the 69th season of the National Hot Rod Association's top drag racing competition.
Antron Brown emerged as the champion in the Top Fuel category. Austin Prock clinched the championship in the Funny Car category. Greg Anderson won the Pro Stock championship. Gaige Herrera secured the championship in the Pro Stock Motorcycle category.
The season featured 20 events for Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, marking the first time since 2018 that Pro Stock cars competed for the full season. Pro Stock Motorcycle competed in 15 events. The series included All-Star Call Out races, where drivers selected their opponents in early rounds, based on a format used by the Discovery television program Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings.
The 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series featured several key races that were pivotal in shaping the season. The season opener took place from March 7-10, 2024. This event is one of the most prestigious in the NHRA calendar and marked the 55th annual running of the Gatornationals. NHRA Arizona Nationals at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park was held from April 5-7, 2024, this race marked the return of the NHRA to Phoenix. Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK Performance at Route 66 Raceway took place from May 17-19, 2024, and was notable for being the first NHRA race at this venue since 2019. Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park ran from August 28-September 2, 2024, this race celebrated its 70th anniversary and is considered the biggest drag race in the world. Pep Boys NHRA Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway was part of the Countdown to the Championship, and took place from September 12-15, 2024. NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway was another key race in the Countdown to the Championship, held from September 20-22, 2024. Virginia NHRA Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park returned to the schedule and was held in a two-day format from June 21-23, 2024.
On October 25, 2023, Camping World, which had been the title sponsor since late 2020, relinquished naming rights sponsorship. Mexican food producer Gruma, S.A.B. de C.V. became the new naming rights sponsor, promoting their Mission Foods brand.
